Some DA person: ‘Course ya do… I think the world might end if Canada manages to get the courage to get in a gun-fight, save someone (FRANCE no less!), and actually do so. He’s too scared, though. He’s terrified of Cuba because he’ll mistake him for America and beat the crap outta him, AND he’s afraid of America with a chainsaw. Despite that stuff, I’m actually a lot like Canada. ^-^
Me: Oh. He was actually one of the liberators of France and the Netherlands.^^ So I do believe he is more than a moe, scared character.^^
Some DA Person: O_o Seriously?! I kinda… don’t believe you. He’s one of those countries no one thinks about and ignores, so that’s why I’m like Canada, no one really notices (or listens to) me much, and I do actually get mixed up with a friend of mine and her friend often, sorta how Cuba mistakes Canada for America.
Me: Well you can check the historical archives for that since you don’t believe me.^^ For me, Matthew may be gentle, silent and soft-spoken. But he can fight when he needs to, like his brother and his two fathers. He is no pushover.^^
Some DA Person: Fine, I believe you. I don’t feel like checking anything, thank you very much… And dear Matthew is a gentle, quiet, rarely-seen soul, but… I’d like to see him fight!!! >< (LOL)
Well for your info, he does fight well.
And please don’t stereotype something so it’d fit you.
I’m so sick of people thinking this way about Canada.
It’s great how their historical background consists of hetalia references and they claim to be like Canada yet won’t do any of their own research on the actual country. It’s one thing to be misinformed but willfully ignorant?
As a character, Matthew is so much more than “scared and useless” - if this person actually believed that, WHY ON EARTH DO THEY LIKE HIM?
